How long should I rinse my hair after I shampoo?
Rinsing hair well after shampooing is important. The average time is 60-90 seconds, but two minutes is probably better and thorough rinsing may take longer if hair is very thick or long. Hair should not feel like it is coated. It is best to rinse hair with the water flowing in the direction of your cuticle, not against it-head is held back and water flows from forehead to back.
How should I treat my hair after I shampoo it?
Gentle handling of the hair after shampooing is important in maintaining healthy hair. After washing you need to blot the hair, don't rub the hair dry. Rubbing can cause tangling and even breakage of brittle hair. After your hair dries or when it is damp, comb hair with a wide-tooth comb, holding sections of hair to gently comb through tangles.
What temperature should the water be when I rinse my hair after shampooing?
The temperature should be determined by what you want to achieve. A cool water rinse helps close the cuticle, which makes the hair feel smoother and look shinier. If hair tends to get oily quickly, cool or tepid water is recommended. Luke warm water stimulates oil production, so if your hair is dry, you may want to use Luke warm water instead of cool water. Remember never to apply anything hot to the hair, always wash hair with luke-warm water or cold water.
If my hair has a squeaky feeling when I shampoo my hair, does this mean it is clean?
A squeaky clean feel usually indicates that oils have been removed from the hair. However, it also may indicate a raised hair cuticle. Rely on a thorough rinsing rather than that squeaky clean feeling.

The single mistake woman in their 40s make is holding on to the exact same hairstyle that served them well in college. Only Liza Minnelli can wear the same hair for 50 years! If youre young, be daring. Change it up in small ways; new hair color, new lipstick, layers or a fringe. Change will keep you young and in step with fashions quick changing rhythms. Jennifer Anistons Friends haircut worked for her and so many women; however, even successful looks must change. Can you imagine wearing Farrah Fawcetts hair like the original version, or Dorothy Hamil on ice? Even Madonna doesnt look great in Farrah!
Heres a style choice tip if you can say I used to wear my hair like that, dont try it again; it will make you look as if youre locked in a time zone. Let the young gals go retro; think Gwen Stefani.

Your stylist must be able to understand your lifestyle in order to make the right suggestions. Are you bohemian, eco friendly? Are you a fashionista? Are you classic or contemporary? If your client is taking a temporary “extensions” break, this cute layered cut sported by actress Taraji P. Henson could be just the solution for a cool summer look. To style curly hair, apply a leave-in moisturizer and blow dry for volume with a round brush, directing strands toward the face. Then mist with volume spray and straighten small sections with a flat iron, flicking the ends up and out. Finish with light holding spray and a few drops of a shine-enhancing serum.

To get that effect, "ask for a blunt cut that falls just above the shoulders and has absolutely no layers," says hairstylist Sally Hershberger of the Sally Hershberger Downtown salon in New York City. Then, ask her to "thin out the ends with scissors or a razor so they look slightly jagged." A cut like this can be worn wavy or flatironed pin-straight.
"Liv's cut is about as blunt as a haircut can get—there are virtually no layers," says hairstylist Garren of the Garren New York salon. "Ask your stylist to make it collarbone-length in the front and just a touch shorter in the back. You should be able to part it on the side or in the center, and if it starts to feel too severe, make some gentle waves with a curling iron."

There is no Board of Health regulation, no insurance, no mandatory licensing, and no one to complain to when a bad hair experience takes place. Often, bootleg or counterfeit products are used. The biggest trap is the person providing the service isnt as up to date as they should be. Sometimes its cheaper, but is it worth the risk? Believe me, there are other professionals that can do your hair just as well if not better, in a professional environment.

How long should I rinse my hair after I shampoo?

It’s time to get real about the professional salon products you see at mass retailers, grocery stores, drug stores, swap meets and on the Internet. It may look like genuine product, but it's actually diverted and it could be old, stolen, counterfeit or tampered with.
FAQs
What is diversion? Diversion is product being sold outside of its authorized chain of distribution.
Is diversion illegal? Not technically. When diversion happens, there are breaches in contracts that occur but it is not illegal—we cannot go into retail stores and forcibly remove our product from the shelf.
How do drugstores, grocery stores and discount stores get Paul Mitchell product? The product in mass retailers does not come from the manufacturer. There are wholesalers that supply those stores who are not affiliated with John Paul Mitchell Systems. Those same wholesalers go to great lengths to obtain product to sell to mass retailers.
Is the salon product I buy at a grocery store, drugstore or on the Internet the real thing? Maybe, maybe not. The products found in grocery stores, drug stores or on the Internet are either diverted, stolen, old, tampered with or counterfeit. The only way to guarantee professional salon product is genuine is to buy it at a professional hair salon or beauty supply where professional salon services are offered.
Is it safe to use these products? It’s difficult to say. Independent lab tests conducted by FOX News on bottles purchased from a variety of mass retailers and grocery stores found enough bacteria that would make the user sick enough to require medical attention.
Are the products guaranteed? John Paul Mitchell Systems only guarantees its products when purchased from a professional hairdresser or hair salon.
Aren’t the products more expensive in a salon? Product at unauthorized outlets can cost up to twice as much as it would if you bought it at a salon.

How do drugstores, grocery stores and discount stores get Paul Mitchell product? The product in mass retailers does not come from the manufacturer. The products found in grocery stores, drug stores or on the Internet are either diverted, stolen, old, tampered with or counterfeit. The only way to guarantee professional salon product is genuine is to buy it at a professional hair salon or beauty supply where professional salon services are offered.
Is it safe to use these products? It’s difficult to say. Independent lab tests conducted by FOX News on bottles purchased from a variety of mass retailers and grocery stores found enough bacteria that would make the user sick enough to require medical attention.

What can we do for Earth Day? Raising awareness is always a good thing, but actions make words meaningful. From easy no cost money saving strategies here are is a list to help you make the transition to a Greener world.
Reduce and reuse wherever possible. Eliminate unnecessary photocopying and encourage e-mailing. Use spell check and proofread before you print or copy. Print double sided whenever possible. Use digital storage solutions to cut down on paper. Set up an area to store and exchange reusable office supplies.
Recycle everything you no longer need, from paper to packaging. Recycle fluorescent bulbs properly to prevent hazardous mercury from entering the environment. Make sure you properly dispose of items you can't reuse or recycle.
